CBS aired a chilling Super Bowl ad that served as a teaser for the upcoming reboot of the classic sci-fi anthology series “The Twilight Zone.” The ad, which was created by the agency McCann New York, featured a series of unsettling vignettes that hinted at the show’s signature blend of suspense, horror, and social commentary.

The ad opens with a shot of an empty football stadium, its lights flickering ominously. A voiceover, provided by Jordan Peele, who serves as the show’s host and executive producer, begins to speak, warning viewers that they are about to enter “The Twilight Zone.”

The ad then cuts to a rapid-fire montage of strange and unsettling scenes: a group of people walking in circles, unable to escape a suburban cul-de-sac; a woman looking in the mirror to see a horrifying reflection of herself; a man driving down a deserted highway, only to come across a mysterious diner.

Throughout the ad, Peele’s voiceover continues to deliver cryptic messages, hinting at the show’s exploration of the dark corners of the human psyche and the unsettling possibilities that lurk just beneath the surface of our everyday lives.

The ad concludes with a shot of Peele standing in the middle of the empty football stadium, his face illuminated by a single spotlight. He delivers a final chilling message: “Welcome to ‘The Twilight Zone.'”

The ad was a critical and commercial success. It was praised for its creepy atmosphere, its effective use of suspense, and its ability to capture the essence of the original “The Twilight Zone” series. The ad also helped to generate excitement for the show’s reboot, which premiered on CBS All Access on April 1, 2019.
