Dentsu announces the immediate exit of Sean Reardon as CEO of its Americas Media Practice. Reardon, who led the U.S. media division since December 2023, steps down after roughly 18 months in the position.
Will Swayne, Dentsu’s Global Practice President for media, will assume responsibility for the U.S. market in addition to his existing global duties. This internal reorganization underscores Dentsu’s strategy to unify leadership across Carat, dentsu X, and iProspect within the Americas.
Other key leaders maintain their posts: Mike Law continues to head Carat; Leah Meranus remains at the helm of dentsu X; and Liz Rutgersson stays in charge of iProspect.
Dentsu frames the shift as part of its global ambition to strengthen media as a core growth driver, fueled by creativity, data, and technology. Positioning the U.S. at the center of this media-led growth agenda, the group emphasizes its investment in talent and capabilities within its largest market.
Reardon exits with no transition period, and his immediate next move remains undisclosed. The leadership realignment signals Dentsu’s renewed focus on coherent oversight, regional integration, and accelerated expansion in the Americas under Swayne’s consolidated leadership.
